Autumn is one of Japan’s easiest seasons to spend time in, due to the mild weather and beautiful scenery. During this season, you don't only see autumn tints but also Japanese pampas grass (silver grass) in a plateau, a sign of autumn. When wind blows, you can hear the sound of the silver grass. Located near Hakone, Sengokubara is good place to enjoy (another) autumn in Japan.

Misaki is quite famous for its fishing, landing and dealing of tunas. Different from the Tokyo Tsukiji market, the Misaki market deals with just tuna, and there are many nice tuna restaurants in this small fishing port. If you are a tuna lover, then try to visit there and enjoy marble tuna (fatty tuna) there. It's around 1.5 hours by train from Tokyo, and there is a combo ticket for train, bus and free meal coupon in restaurants.

When turban shell is grilled with shoyu, sake and mirin, there is a very good scent of the sea. Yes, you should try this at a stall near the sea. The shell is very chewy and a bit sweet. Enoshima is famous for this food and the best season to try it is from Feb to May.

In a bowl of whitebait of sardines, usually there are dried and fresh sardines, or shirasu (しらす). In some area like Kamakura and Kanagawa, you can try just fresh whitebait of sardine! Put a spoonful of shirasu in your mouth and you can feel the sea in it.

Ankou is deep sea fish and looks very unique. The taste of this fish is also very unique in good way. Liver of this fish tastes like foie gras, while its skin is very chewy as it contains lots of collagen. It's best when eaten with miso soup.
